The darkest ground Julia works on, which makes the teal and yellow sit forward almost immediately. The scribbled linework was added last with an oil stick, cutting back through paint that was still workable rather than drawn on top of a dry surface.
Matte black ground with satin color blocks; scribble work is incised, not surface-drawn.
